5th October 2018
This year the Gratitude Club would again like to support a local organisation in the lead up to Christmas. We are supporting ‘Barnabus’ – a Christian project that helps to support the homeless in Manchester. They support 600 homeless and vulnerable people every week by supporting their emotional, spiritual and physical needs whilst helping them to get back into mainstream society.
This year we would like to donate care packages to the homeless at Christmas. We hope to provide 50 packages as a school. In order for us to achieve this we would like to ask for the following kind donations from our year groups:
Year 11 - NEW socks, scarves and gloves (thermal if possible)
Year 10 - Roll-on deodorants (no aerosol products please as they can be misused)
Year 9 – Shower gel and flannels
Year 8 – Toothbrushes and toothpaste
Year 7 – Sweets and chocolate (well within their sell by date please).
Barnabus see mainly homeless men and have asked that any toiletries are suitable for men to use.
Please could you send donations into school by Monday 15th October 2018 so that form tutors can collect them and the Gratitude Club can make up the packages in plenty of time for Christmas. Any empty shoeboxes would also be very gratefully received.
If you would like more information about Barnabus please visit www.barnabus-manchester.org.uk.
With many thanks in anticipation of your support with this project,
The Gratitude Club
