Homework letter 1

Monday 28th September 2015

Dear Parent/Carer,

RE: Homework Timetable

You should have now received the new whole school Homework Timetable which was given out on Friday 25th September. If your child was off school for some reason or they didn’t receive one they can collect one from their form tutor.

Through parental feedback last year we identified that the inconsistency of pupils receiving homework and at times the lack of homework set was a real concern. As a result of this I have produced this timetable which should now give us a robust system in which every child is being set weekly homework for each subject and this will be consistent across the classes.

I am aware that for some children this may at first glance seem excessive, however can I reassure you that once they get into the routine, it will be manageable and in line with many other schools.
Some subjects set homework as part of a whole term project; therefore it is set once at the start of the term. Other subjects don’t set homework every 3rd week to enable them to collect the books in, all of which is explained underneath the timetable and should alleviate any concerns you or your child have over the amount that is set.

Your feedback is very important to us, therefore towards the end of this first half term you will have the opportunity to complete an evaluation form and any comments will be taken into  consideration.

In the meantime, if you have any concerns regarding this matter, please do not hesitate to contact me on the number below.

Yours sincerely,

Miss M Bowler
