I would like to introduce myself as the Head of Year 8. I am very pleased to be taking over this year group as I have heard great things about the attitude and behaviour of the pupils! I have also been very impressed with the great relationships that they have formed with their form tutors and with Mrs Urquhart. I am very much looking forward to our journey through the school to Year 11 and hope that we can be the best year group that St Philip Howard Catholic Voluntary Academy has ever had!
If you have any issues about your child or about school in general please contact their form tutor in the first instance. As a reminder the form tutors are:
8 Challenge – Mrs Worley
8 Courage – Mrs Dewey
8 Determination – Mr Hack
8 Endeavour – Mrs Kernohan
If you have any concerns that are subject related please contact the relevant member of teaching staff.
I can be contacted at school by telephone or at EMcGill@sph.academy.
I would also like to take this opportunity to ask for your continued support in being vigilant over your child’s use of any form of social media. If you are in any doubt we would encourage you to confiscate phones or discourage your child from using social media. Please could I also remind you that mobile phones can be brought into school but they should be in bags and switched off at all times. If your child is seen using their phone in school it will be confiscated and will remain on the premises until an adult is able to collect it from school.
Once again, I am pleased to be the Head of this Year group and I am looking forward to working with you as your child continues on their journey at St Philip Howard.
Mrs E McGill
Head of Year 8
