As always, it has been an extremely busy term at St Philip Howard with both students and staff continuing to work hard to ensure that your child achieves the best possible outcomes when they leave the school.
We wish our Year 11 the best of luck as they undertake their GCSE’s as well as our Year 10 who are about to sit their mock examinations.
As previously stated, one of my main priorities is to ensure high quality teaching and learning across all department within the school. Student and parent feedback informs us that you recognise the improvements we have made in this area. I am delighted to announce a number of appointments for September which will further enhance the quality of teaching and learning at St Philip Howard;
Head of Religious Education – Miss G Egan
Head of Maths – Mr M.S Ali
Head of Computer Science – Mr M. Bailey
PE Teacher – Miss R. Roberts
Science Teachers – Mrs J.A. Birkitt & Miss D. Finan
Art Teacher – Mrs J. Beckett will cover Miss King’s maternity leave
I am also pleased to announce that the Year 7 intake for September 2017 is oversubscribed which suggests that the hard work of all the stakeholders to improve standards in the school and raise the profile of St Philip Howard in the community is paying off.
On behalf of all the staff, we hope our students have a restful half term. School will reopen at 8.45am on Monday 5th June 2017.
